Testimonials

Today, we were attending a scientific discussion at Al-Rakhawy Foundation, where we were discussing a dramatic work.

The conversation turned to safe relationships, and how even one genuine, secure relationship can be enough to help a person heal.

And do you know who immediately came to my mind?

You, Dr. Samir.

This is what I had been waiting to tell you the next time I saw you.

During this recent period of my life, I went through many difficult traumas, one after another. They also reopened painful experiences from my past. Yet, in the midst of all of this, I found myself becoming stronger, overcoming those experiences, and learning how to heal from them when I allowed my relationship with you to become part of that healing.

I learned so much from you, Dr. Samir. I experienced so much through my relationship with you, and I allowed so many things within that relationship to heal me and help me become better.

And they did.

Thank God, I have been off medication for quite some time now, and, thank God, I am doing very well. This became even more apparent after the trip to Nuweiba.

They were also talking about how beautiful it is to have someone whose presence always brings you comfort—someone whose existence reassures you and makes you feel safe.

Again, you were the person who came to mind.

When you are there, I feel deeply reassured, safe, and comforted by your presence.

And when you are not physically there, you are still within me. Your presence remains with me.

So I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart simply for being there.

If you were to ask me, “Alaa, what helped you the most in your healing?”

I would answer:

“My relationship with you, Dr. Samir.” 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

Before I knew you personally, I used to hear people refer to you as a “spiritual father,” and it made me happy simply to know that someone like that existed.

But lately, I have become the one saying it about you.

Because I have come to feel it so deeply in my relationship with you that I now find myself telling people:

“This man is my second father—or, more accurately, my spiritual father.” 🌹🌹🌹

I dedicate these humble reflections to you, in an attempt to express what I feel about Dr. Samir Abou El Magd—the doctor, the physician, and above all, the human being…

He was that point of light…

He came with steady steps…

He was the glimmer that called the soul back to life once again.

He may never have realized how deeply his subtle imprint reached into the very depths of the soul—his calm voice, his profound emotions, and the unmistakable passion he tries to hide from everyone.

There are people who reach deep inside you without effort or struggle, leaving a profound mark within you.

They change you without you even realizing it. They make you begin to see life from a different perspective, through a lens of remarkable clarity and transparency. They make you pause, reflect, and contemplate without ever forcing you toward a particular thought, word, or action.

He guides and leads you with a quiet presence, sometimes without even saying a word. His humanity simply shines through him. Almost overnight, he makes you see life as spontaneous yet complex, profound yet simple—all at the same time.

He gives you a sense of safety and reassurance, reminding you that there is still a glimmer of hope for a world that seems to be falling apart amid the noise, pressures, and endless demands of society.

He invites you to join him on a genuine journey into the soul, planting within you a deep sense of certainty and faith that there are still souls who live and breathe to protect and preserve the virtues of honesty, sincerity, dedication, and perseverance in a world that surrounds us with artificiality, appearances, and lies.

Thank you for your profound sensitivity and for the light you brought into a soul that had begun to lose hope in the possibility of a world that could still be simple, quiet, and peaceful.

Please, always remain who you are…

Because you are a light that illuminates the lives of so many people around you—not only those who need your prescriptions and medical care as a doctor, but also those who are touched by you simply as a human being who remains true to himself and sincere with everyone around him.

Thank you.

Dear Dr. Samir,

I pray for you every day. You are the reason my suffering came to an end. I was living as though I were dead, and you brought me back to life. “And whoever saves one life, it is as if they have saved all of humanity.”

I have come back much better than I was before. I am far more productive, my mood is stable, and not only have I become more committed to my studies, but I have also started helping my classmates with theirs.

Because of you, I have come closer to finding inner peace. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me.

Over the past few days, I went through a mixed episode. In the past, whenever I experienced one, I would end up harming myself and being admitted to intensive care. But this time was different. You were always there for me, supporting and helping me until I made it through safely. And I came out of it feeling even better than before.

Thank you, thank you, thank you so much. I pray for you more than you can imagine. May God bring peace and comfort to your heart, protect you from every hardship and every pain, and bless you abundantly until you are truly content.

You have written on WhatsApp, “Giving is the secret of life.” I took those words to heart. I started living by them, looking for anyone who might need help and doing whatever I can to help them. I began finding a sense of purpose and worth in doing that, and it brought light into my heart.

All of this is because of you.

To me, you are a role model. And with every person I go on to help, you will share in the reward, and the positive impact you have made will continue.
